Happy World Cardmaking Day!
I just returned home from getting together with a few friends to make some cards! My favorite card was when someone showed us how to use used dryer sheets on your cards .. way cute!
I've seen a couple of the giveaways that you mentioned, nothing else yet .. but I plan to keep looking!

Congrats Robin - email me your snail mail address to sgray110 at gmail dot com

Thanks to everyone who left a comment & visited.
Hope you are having beautiful weather in your area.  Here in Georgia fall is the best time of the year.  Except for the ragweed (which is really bad this year( & yellow jackets (the bug not the college team - so don't get your panties in a wad those of you who love GA Tech - the bugs seem to know they aren't long for the world & want to take anyone down with them who gets in their paths)  it would be perfect... but you can't have everything.  We get cool nights and days in the 60's or 70's which after tis super hot summer is so welcome.  I love to watch the dogs first thing in the morning go out and that chill in air causes them to tuck the tail & just be a bit more frisky running around the yard.
It's also the time for festivals.  Every weekend there is something fun to do close by the house.  We went to the Lawrenceville Rockin' Rib Festival on Saturday.  It was the first time we attended this one but thought it was worth checking out since there was live music, good food, & very close to the house.  Charley rushed me and I forgot the camera so thank goodness for the iphone.
The music was a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young cover band & they were very good.

I love that the old town of Lawrenceville has live music on the lawns outside the old courthouse.

While enjoying the mellow music out of the corner of our eye we both saw at the same time this crazy guy who was dancing like a maniac.

We were dying laughing.  Come to find out he was recording HIMSELF....

Here are some You Tube links of him dancing to some of the other bands later in the day

Looks like he even got on the stage with this band

We were pleasantly surprised you could buy beer (if you stayed on 2 of the 4 blocked off streets surrounding the courthouse square?)

$4 a little cup was a bit high but that didn't stop you know who

I seemed to have the kiss of death for every line I stood in....

First Rita's to get an italian ice... they were out of everything after a 10 minute wait

Then how about a funnel cake.... waited another 10 minutes only to get within 2 people of front of the line and something happened to their power....

So we walked around a bit & saw Hawaiian ice & I stood in line yet again...
20 minutes later I got this

Finally!  A delicious & refreshing cherry delight...

I think I enjoyed it even more because I finally got something to eat.

===========================================================

Well that's all for today... have a great day.

So what are your plans for New Years Eve?

Normally we go to the square in the small city we live in.  They really do a fantastic New Year's celebration.  There is many different live bands ranging from rock all the way to big band which was my favorite.  Being in the historic courthouse & seeing all the musicians & beautiful singer dressed in a long gown takes you back to a different time & reminds me of my grandfather who was a piano player & instilled the appreciation & love of all types of music in me but especially the old standards.  It's so festive & perfect for New Year's Eve.  There's even a big dance floor for those who want to cut a rug.... The other bands are scattered around the town outside or in different buildings.  Plenty of food choices at the restaurants or typical festival food (I can't leave without a funnel cake - yum).  A horse drawn carriage ride or a spin around town on an antique cable car that has been converted with wheels gives a break to walking.  Finally at midnight the fireworks go off to greet 2010 (though we never stay that long).  It  looks like this year will be rained out... and with my broken tail bone I'll be ushering in the new year in front of the TV.  Oh well... hopefully next year I'll be able to enjoy a favorite tradition.

Well that's all for today - I can tell it's going to be a slow day these bones are having a hard time getting moving today (wow I feel like I'm ancient).  Have a great one!

Great Weekend

It was so good to have my hubby back for a little over a day. Last week he was taking his mom to the doctors & came across a job he couldn't pass up. We have been praying for a long time for another job opportunity to open up. Charley is such a hard worker & he really gives his all to his employer. His dream is to own his own business again & he had hoped it would be a scaffolding store but that never came to be in his last position. I guess he was too valuable as just a general manager to the owner that he wouldn't allow him to purchase a store. Oh well it's his loss since Charley ran his company as if he owned it always putting the company first. It will be hard to have him gone during the week working in Alabama. He really seemed happy & relaxed for the first time in over a year with the stresses & paycuts of his prior job behind him. He's been going to church with his brother & dad. Which is a miracle as his family was never church goers - His dad & brother were even baptized yesterday! I'll have to stay over here in Georgia for a while until the housing market picks back up & we can get a little more money out of the house. Oh well I guess with my evenings alone the bright side is I'll have more "play" money to buy new products.

Did you all do the Cards For Heroes blog hop over the weekend? It was filled with inspiration. I hope you join in & make some cards for the troops.

So without further ado.....
the winner of the stamp set & rub-ons is.....

I hope you had a relaxing weekend with family & friends. We had a very relaxing time at my parents house swimming in the pool & eating yummy food. Here's a few photos of cooling off.

Note to Self.... don't ask my mom to take photos anymore

I usually am left out of all the photos so this time I asked to have a photo taken (even in a bathing suit - this is true growth lol) and this is what I get

I'll close with friendly Mr. Lizzard saying have a great day!

A New Week

The Unity Kit of the Month Blog Hop was so fun. I finally finished it on Sunday. Blog after blog was filled with inspiration.

I placed an order on Thursday & it was here at my door on Monday -- wow that is some super service & one of the many reasons I love Unity Stamps. I have lots of new stamps to create with. Just in time for some cards I need to make.

Doing a one day challenge is so much easier than the month long....

I used the random.org number generator

The RAK winner is # 26

Congrats Fiber Junky please email me at sgray110 at gmail dot com with your address.

Everything Scrapp'n has some new Creative Imaginations products in stock. They are 15% off along with the new Queen & Company. Check the blog for photos & more info - click here

I didn't have as much creative time over the weekend as I'd planned... so what little time I did have I created this layout. I've been doing a challenge over at the Scrap Nook. I love using 12x12 diecut shapes for a layout anyway but this challenge was to make your own.

The shape was based loosely on the blue ribbons Grace would win. The title "Her Name is Gracie, She was a Show Girl" came from the Barry Mannilow song "Copacabana". I had just picked up my new Jenni Bowlin products at my local scrapbook store EMI Scrapbooking - it's the perfect color & addition to this layout. Well I'm crossing my fingers that I will win the extra points this time. I sure need them since I'm in the middle of the pack right now.

A fellow scrapbooker asked for our help... she needs votes to win one of those fantastic desks by the Original Scrapbox. You can vote daily here. Ashjoy's creation is number 303

Wow what a desk!

Here is a photo of her project

Well hope you have a great week & take some time to be creative.

Wonderful Weekend & RAK Winners

Everything Scrapp'n is having a huge sale in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. Check out the blog & the store.

We had a wonderful weekend here. The weather was beautiful & I'm finally feeling better. My sister came over & helped me move some plants & weed one of the flower beds. There's so much to do at this time of the year. The garden is filled with so many possibilities too your imagination & sweat are the limit of what you can create.

Our dog Rosie had a great time playing with Karen's dog Lucy. Lucy is very shy rescue & I was so tickled when they started running around & playing. They were moving so fast the only photos I could get were blurrs.... Rosie loves to play with sticks out in the yard... she thinks they are sticks but really they are more like tree limbs. She will run around & knock us in the shins yikes... so I try to police the yard before letting her out every time there is a storm or windy day.

Our oldest son Andrew works for a vet clinic. They had a dog that was a patient that the woman could no longer keep so she signed her rights away to the clinic & paid for some boarding time. Well no one has taken an interest in "Lady" so Andrew took her to a church youth festival. The few people who were interested were not people who should have a dog so she came here to spend the day Sunday. Rosie goes from no one to play with to dogs every day! Here's sweet Lady... who ended up staying today too (I'd love to keep her - she fits right in)

Ok so as promised I drew names for quite a few of the prizes....

Don't worry there are still lots to give-a-way so keep entering.

I know I had been hand writing the entries but there were new followers & comments on older posts being added so to be sure I wasn't missing anyone I copied each name & added it to a log in a Word document by day & followers. Then printed it & cut them up. There are a lot of comments but I sure wanted to be fair so this was the only way I could come up with it since I had already started drawing names. I know I'm killing trees -- so next time I will rethink this way of doing it.

I have found out that I am having trouble with my msn email account. Nothing my hubby sends me is getting to me (not in junk mail or anywhere & he is one of my contacts) so I was worried when Kimmie said she emailed me & I hadn't gotten it.

So if ALL Winners would please email sgray110 at gmail dot com your snail mail address & I will get your prizes to you.
Winners:
Charisma3103 wins Sizzix Die Set
Lynn wins Tim Holtz mask & Making Memories letters
Kathy Floen wins wood mount rubber stamp Simple Pleasures
Jeanie Nieva wins Autumn Leaves acrylic stamp set
Audrey wins Sizzix Die Set
Stacey Michaud wins Prima flowers & some of my favorite trims & ribbons
Past Winners:
Kimmy wins Prima flowers
BrandiLynn wins Sizzix Tag Die - I received your email I will get it out to you at the end of the month in case you win more prizes since you are out of USA
Karen Lee wins Sizzix Flower Die

Some RAK Winners

Well I spent the 8-1/2 hours at the hospital yesterday. Both kidneys are blocked with small stones & inflammation. I also had LOTS of bloodwork done 9 tubes out of a little tiny vein in my hand (they couldn't find another one but it hung in there that's a praise). Anyway more medicine but I am feeling much better which is crazy because 'THEY" said the infection isn't any better. I go by what I feel & not what "they" say.....

My hubby & I made sure all the names were written down & cut up. There are really a lot of entries. It really hit me when I had to change to a crock from the little basket I was using. Adding the entries day by day doesn't seem like a lot but looking at all of them in a container really made me thankful for the support you all have been showing me. Thanks so much for keeping up with my blog & all the sweet comments/encouragement. You don't know how much it means.

So here goes.....

The winner of the Sizzix Tags Die is: Brandilynn

The winner of the Sizzix Flowers Die is Karen Lee:

Here are the Prima Flowers that Kimmy has yet to claim. Kimmy email me.

Here's some photos of just a few of the other prizes that are yet to be drawn in addition to the My Mind's Eye card kit courtesy of Everything Scrapp'n. I'll post more photos tomorrow. Blogger really makes me crazy & isn't the most user friendly when I start adding a bunch of photos. Some of the smaller items will be combined to one lucky winner.

I hope you are working on your layouts for the Everything Scrapp'n My Mind's Eye Giveaway. There have been some great entries so far. Hard to believe it's already April 22 - so there's still time to enter before April 30th if you get busy. Check out the Everything Scrapp'n Blog for more details.

Don't forget to leave a comment for another entry into my month long RAK contest for more details see this post If you haven't already done it sign up as a follower for more entries.
