National Scrapbook Day - Hip Hop Hangover

Wow there sure is a lot going on this weekend -- leave me a comment telling me what you are doing this weekend.....

First off Hip Hop Hangover...Unity Stamp Company has been celebrating their 1st Birthday all week long. Wow they have sure come a long way in one short year.

I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the stamps, customer service, talented design team & fun environment they have created for all of their customers. Once you try a Unity Stamp you will want lots more.

Here's a couple cards & a layout I made with their great stamps.

Everything Scrapp'n is having a huge sale for National Scrapbook Day on Saturday.

  • Everything in the store is 20% off & all Hambly products are 40% off. Heather (owner) said "Ok so I know I told you that you will be getting a free gift with your purchase, and I know I told you that the gift gets bigger and better for every $10 above $25 you spend. Now I can't show you all the in between gifts because they will vary but I can show you what you will get packed with goodies if you spend $100 or more."

  • See the store blog for photos & more details. There's lots of inspiration from the designers with supply links to make it quick & easy to add to your carts.
  • Saturday all the designers & I will be having giveaways on our blogs. I have links on the left sidebar. I will be offering a $10 gift certificate to the store. So make sure you check in for a moment on NSD for your chance to win.

Here are a couple of sneak peaks of what I did with the new Fancy Pants lines. They are so fun & whimsical. I love the trees (can you tell which ones are the Unity Stamp ones? they're a great match aren't they.... I love the rainbow paper -- it made such a cute layout so quickly.

I also made a budget friendly mixed media album using Hambly transparency & felt ....

I hope you will join in the fun over at the Paperclipping forum. There will be challenges, prizes & lots of fun starting Friday & going thru Sunday. Terri Bradford is organizing it & has a lot of great things lined up.

If you've been visiting my blog the past month you know I've been having a month of RAKs. I've already given away quite a few prizes. Please check the prior posts to see if you were a winner. I've only heard from a few of you.... my email is sgray110 at gmail dot com. I will be drawing the rest of the prizes tomorrow when I get home from the doctors. Thankfully I'm feeling better (y'all were so sweet with your comments, encouragement & concerns). Make sure to check back Saturday or Sunday for the complete list of winners along with photos of the prizes....

Have a super creative weekend.... I know I will

Wonderful Weekend & RAK Winners

Everything Scrapp'n is having a huge sale in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. Check out the blog & the store.

We had a wonderful weekend here. The weather was beautiful & I'm finally feeling better. My sister came over & helped me move some plants & weed one of the flower beds. There's so much to do at this time of the year. The garden is filled with so many possibilities too your imagination & sweat are the limit of what you can create.

Our dog Rosie had a great time playing with Karen's dog Lucy. Lucy is very shy rescue & I was so tickled when they started running around & playing. They were moving so fast the only photos I could get were blurrs.... Rosie loves to play with sticks out in the yard... she thinks they are sticks but really they are more like tree limbs. She will run around & knock us in the shins yikes... so I try to police the yard before letting her out every time there is a storm or windy day.

Our oldest son Andrew works for a vet clinic. They had a dog that was a patient that the woman could no longer keep so she signed her rights away to the clinic & paid for some boarding time. Well no one has taken an interest in "Lady" so Andrew took her to a church youth festival. The few people who were interested were not people who should have a dog so she came here to spend the day Sunday. Rosie goes from no one to play with to dogs every day! Here's sweet Lady... who ended up staying today too (I'd love to keep her - she fits right in)

Ok so as promised I drew names for quite a few of the prizes....

Don't worry there are still lots to give-a-way so keep entering.

I know I had been hand writing the entries but there were new followers & comments on older posts being added so to be sure I wasn't missing anyone I copied each name & added it to a log in a Word document by day & followers. Then printed it & cut them up. There are a lot of comments but I sure wanted to be fair so this was the only way I could come up with it since I had already started drawing names. I know I'm killing trees -- so next time I will rethink this way of doing it.

I have found out that I am having trouble with my msn email account. Nothing my hubby sends me is getting to me (not in junk mail or anywhere & he is one of my contacts) so I was worried when Kimmie said she emailed me & I hadn't gotten it.

So if ALL Winners would please email sgray110 at gmail dot com your snail mail address & I will get your prizes to you.

Walk for a Cure

My sister Karen (pictured on bench with a "friend") works at Northside Hospital. They are a very volutenteer oriented organization. Since she has watched me struggle with rheumatoid arthrits she has chosen to walk for an arthritis cure.

Anyone interested in supporting this wonderful cause click here. No amount is too small -- it all adds up.
If you are here for the blog hop it's one post below.

Hip Hop Hangover

I just love my Unity Stamps. So when you add the fun Thursday Hip Hop Blog Hop & all day Chat & Prizes that's a combination the makes my heart sing.

This week is Unity Stamps First Birthday Celebration Lots of sales & fun. Even a brand new community.

My silly kidney problem didn't get the message to not schedule anything on Thursdays... so I had a doctor appointment in the afternoon. By the time I got home & back online I hear the TV beeping... those pesky thunderstorms were rolling on in so most of the evening I had the computers turned off & unplugged (you know how my luck has been going with trees falling this month)... Anyway at 11:45 pm I thought I would check before I went to bed who won the card contests. Well shock & nearly falling out of my chair I won a fantastic prize!

Jeanne posted this: The winner of the Unity Almost Birthday Challenge is IAMCraftysuz. (for some reason on splitcoast "craftysuz" was already taken so I had to add something to it) She wins Alpha G Just My Type! You can see her cutie owl card --> HERE

Yay! I couldn't sleep after that so I went in the scrap room & worked on some projects.

Don't forget to leave a comment for another entry into my month long RAK contest for more details see this post If you haven't already done it sign up as a follower for more entries.

Also check out the Everything Scrapp'n Blog -- Huge $90 My Mind's Eye RAK. There is still plenty of time to create a layout or 5 for entry into the contest.

While I have you here... one more "plug"... if you're looking for fantastic video scrapbooking tutorials & inspiration you have to visit Paperclipping.com. Noell & her hubby Izzy are amazing talents. There are some free videos but if you become a premium member you get access to all the videos in the archives. Trust me it's better than any online "class" you can take on design. Click on the link on my right sidebar just under my slideshow & join in the fun today.

Thanks so much for visiting today. Here are the cards I made for the challenges yesterday.

Everyone at Unity loves quotes... so here's my quote for the day (I give up trying to get rid of this funky cutoff text - grrrr guess that goes along with regret for wasting time lol)

"Regret for wasted time is more wasted time."
Mason Cooley

If you want to start the blog hop from the beginning (to see all the great eye candy & I spotted a couple of RAKS) go to the Unity Blog. Speaking of RAKS check out this one last blog for a huge one I found thru the hop today Passion for Crafts

Thursday Fun

I am about to float away from drinking water.... I think I'm getting better but have to go back to the doctor this afternoon. This kidney stuff is really messing with my creative time! This month has been quite a stinker. Reading back on the posts for the month I can't believe how much I've been sick & what are the chances of 2 trees falling on utility lines in the same month! My grandpa would say in these times the only luck I have is bad luck... he was Irish.

Well I'm hopping at the Unity Blog Hop today. Check it out there are lots of prizes thru the day in the forum. I love their stamps & use them all the time.

Here's a card I made for one of the challenges.

The challenge was to create a birthday card without using traditional birthday images. I love this owl journaling spot stamp. It is so versatile & is not limited to a layout. I think my sister will love this card since her b'day is coming in May.
I'll be posting some more Unity tomorrow as I'm participating in the Hip Hop Hangover Blog Hop. So check back for more projects.
I hope you are working on your layouts for the Everything Scrapp'n My Mind's Eye Giveaway. There have been some great entries so far. Hard to believe it's already April 22 - so there's still time to enter before April 30th if you get busy. Check out the Everything Scrapp'n Blog for more details.
There is also time to get in on the challenges over at the paperclipping forum. The topics are very broad & don't limit your creativity but really encourage it. I hope you'll join in the fun & look forward to seeing your designs.
I have to say that the Paperclipping Live show on Tuesday was too fun! We had lots of new people. Even Stephanie Howell came & she loved it! See I've been telling y'all about the best way to spend an hour or two on Tuesday evenings is on Ustream. Next week we will be working with a scraps we exchanged during a scrap swap. It's always fun to create with stuff from other scrappers.

Some RAK Winners

Well I spent the 8-1/2 hours at the hospital yesterday. Both kidneys are blocked with small stones & inflammation. I also had LOTS of bloodwork done 9 tubes out of a little tiny vein in my hand (they couldn't find another one but it hung in there that's a praise). Anyway more medicine but I am feeling much better which is crazy because 'THEY" said the infection isn't any better. I go by what I feel & not what "they" say.....

My hubby & I made sure all the names were written down & cut up. There are really a lot of entries. It really hit me when I had to change to a crock from the little basket I was using. Adding the entries day by day doesn't seem like a lot but looking at all of them in a container really made me thankful for the support you all have been showing me. Thanks so much for keeping up with my blog & all the sweet comments/encouragement. You don't know how much it means.

So here goes.....

The winner of the Sizzix Tags Die is: Brandilynn

The winner of the Sizzix Flowers Die is Karen Lee:

Here are the Prima Flowers that Kimmy has yet to claim. Kimmy email me.

Here's some photos of just a few of the other prizes that are yet to be drawn in addition to the My Mind's Eye card kit courtesy of Everything Scrapp'n. I'll post more photos tomorrow. Blogger really makes me crazy & isn't the most user friendly when I start adding a bunch of photos. Some of the smaller items will be combined to one lucky winner.
