Grandpa

My Grandpa holds a dear place in my heart & even after almost 14 years since he passed I still miss him terribly.  We may have lived 12 hours apart (once we moved to Geogia in '79)  but we talked on the phone daily & would spend as much time as I could with them.  This kept us closer than many people who lived in the same town.

Here's a couple pages about him....

This one has a gift I gave him one Chistmas in the background.  He truly loved it & was so proud my crewel embroidery Christmas scene & it hung in the living room for all to see year round.  He would draw very childish scenes to tell stories about his childhood or picture all of us doing fun winter things and send them to me.  So when I saw this piece in the embroidery store I knew I had to make it for him.  So many months of work in the evenings and weekends allowed me to complete it on time.

Supplies:  Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (Lilly Bee & Sassafras); Ribbon (May Arts); Letters (American Crafts - Thickers); Thread (Coats & Clarks); Adhesive (Kokuyo); Stamp (Unity Stamp Co), Ink (Hybrid & Colorbox)

The next page is just random everyday photos.  I numbered each of them to go along with the journaling.

Supplies:  Cardstock (Bazzill); Paper (Scenic Route & Basic Grey); Ribbon (May Arts); Buttons (Misc Stash); Font (Ariel); Letters (Making Memories Slice & Jenni Bowlin sickers); Thread (DMC)

Last but not least this photo of my grandpa painting the fence really cracked me up because he was the least handy man around.  My grandma always did all the painting & fixing things because she knew he sure wasn't good at it & would usually make a mess of it.  But when she started getting symptoms of Alzheimers he did more things around the house because at that point she was still able to do things but he was taking good care of her & pampering her so got it done before she could even start.

Supplies:  Paper (Teresa Collins, Making Memories, &  Little Yellow Bicycle); Cardstock (Scenic Route & Bazzill); Brads (Joann's Craft Essentials & Doodlebug); Die Cut Shape (Cricut); Die Cut Letters (Making Memories Slice); Punch (Stampin' Up); Border (Bazzill); Pen (Zig); Adhesive (Kokuyo & Xyron); Photo Corner Holders (Queen & Company)

Using some of my old Scenic Route stash sure made me realize how much I am going to miss their company.  I really like a lot of their papers.

Have a fantastic day & thanks for visiting.

My buddy (or should I say pest since he tears into the garbage since the garbage company hadn't  dropped off our dumpster -I guess that makes it their fault and not the critters... it only took them 3 weeks but they took our $58 a quarter real fast - that's a lot when we were only used to paying $6 a month when we were in the city limits... sorry tangent lol) that visits outside the window of the scrap room (he drives Rosie crazy but doesn't even budge with all her barking & jumping at the window) says bye too
I guess I should name him since he is there everyday... what do you think?
